OH HARK 33
At this invitation , the poet started quaking with fear
" Not snakes' innards? Tell me your preference dear".
Said the woman coming dangerously close.
On toes she stood, still nose could not meet nose.
His features underwent an unflattering transformation.
While her eyes danced with an insane jubilation.
For one moment he thought he was going to be kissed.
He ducked in time , and the woman missed.
Of his changing expressions she took note.
"Ah, I have waited for so long", she said, I quote.
At the antics of his spooky host
His hair stood up in fright, suffering the most.
At the poet, covetously she glanced
With every gesture of his, her ardour enhanced.
Hoarsely he cleared his throat
In the air a clenched fist he smote.
" Seize the day", he yelled. and towards the duo he dashed.
"You cannot do this to me", her hefty arms she thrashed.
"I will not let you escape", her serrated teeth she flashed.
Stumbling after the poet , the air she slashed.
Overwhelmed by the thrashing, flashing and slashing
On the ground she tumbled, her teeth gnashing.
Snorting viciously, some mumbo jumbo she mumbled.
Her nose hit a stone, and in anger she grumbled.
"A nose for a nose" , cursed the woman bellicose.
Got up dusting herself ,and stood on her toes.
The trees looked arthritic, bare and stripped.
With horror great were the trio gripped.
With a hand on her nose , after the poet she sped .
Caught him viciously and slapped him on the head.
Suddenly appeared a man, his neck lost under layers of fat.
After him, barking and mewing came the dog and the cat.
Dumbfounded at the man's appearance and necklessness
Holding hands they started running with recklessness.
The drumming of their hearts they could hear in the dark.
Despite her stolidity, she was half a foot away, oh hark.
In the air a vengeful hand she swirled.
In contempt utter her lips she did curl.
Every fibre, every muscle of the poet's body was tense.
Thick with malevolence was the forest dense.
From a row of trees suddenly appeared a truck.
It thundered towards them, they were horror struck.
A barrage of expletives hit their backs.
It loomed large, stopping them in their tracks.
It was a ramshackle truck with a smashed grille.
Moving towards them on a mission to kill.
Inside it were three burly men sitting
And one wrinkled woman who was frantically knitting.

How wonderful, the old age advances so recklessly remitted to scary run more affectionate, The declaration of Love spurned, the admonishment of life it seems WOW Santosh
ReplyDeleteOne or two of the series of rhymes had me literally laughing loudly. Unexpected twists had me on the edge of my seat, wondering what next could happen. This is my favourite episode so far, which must be a great accomplishment after the many funny and tragic previous parts. Thanks, Santosh!
