INNOCENCE UNTARNISHED
The cloud
caravans cruised across the sky
Heading towards the mountains which soared
high
The merrily piping wind drove them along like
a shepherd his flock
Pensively
looked on a hunched man perched on a rock
The murmur
of the trees filled the air
They tossed
their shaggy crowns and erased many frowns
And slowly the sun set
Capping the river with curls russet
They were
tickled pink,
Swaggering as though under the influence of
some drink
The waves
danced in merry swirls
Now the moon beams stabbed the night
Sweeping the ruffled surface of the river
buoyant
The waves they tickled
They erupted
into giggles and rolled on uncontrolled
Undulating
in swathes of joy unvarnished.
Innocence untarnished.
